Chairman of the Indonesian Interior Designers Association (HDII) DKI Jakarta, Ranu Scarvia RF, said that trends around the interior are formed from the personalization of each user. Ideas that are most liked will usually be followed and indirectly become a trend.
Trends are actually formed from the way of life or personalization of each user, of each individual. So for now, we see that our lifestyle has changed. Our lifestyle has changed, users have also started to change,” said Ranu at the Innovation Talk: A Comfortable Home with Safe Electricity in Jakarta on Wednesday (2/10/2024).
According to him, in 2024 and 2025, interior trends that will develop are the use of sustainable materials (environmentally friendly), smart technology (smart home), and functional design elements.
We will see an increasing trend towards deep personalization, with a focus on using sustainable materials, smart technology, and design elements that create spaces that are not only aesthetic but also functional and meaningful. Of course, the selection of materials, furniture, and lighting needs to meet safety and security standards so that it is not only beautiful but also safe,” said Ranu.
Meanwhile, some of the trends that are being widely used throughout 2024 itself are quite diverse. From 70’s vibes, dark wood tones, round edges, minimalism, luxe materials, paint the unexpected, gold toned metals, to 90’s neons.
Panels for wall panels are now on trend. People are now said to be good with materials, it has become the number one point actually. Then there’s minimalist down, it’s very minimalist,” he said.
